PODS Gets Set For The 2018 Commonwealth Games
Its only 15 days to go til the long-awaited 2018 Commonwealth Games kick off on the Gold Coast. Local businesses, residents and organisers are busy getting set for the Games! And PODS are no exception.
Amidst all the excitement and celebration of the Games will be some short-term disruption to traffic and businesses in the Gold Coast area and along transport corridors between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
Our Brisbane Storage Centre is located just off the Pacific Motorway at Stapylton, along that corridor.
We wish to advise all PODS customers that we are expecting, and working hard to manage, traffic congestion which may impact container delivery timings during the Games period of March–mid-April.
The M1, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast, will experience an increased demand in private and public vehicle traffic throughout March until mid-April.
There will be thousands of athletes, officials, volunteers, workforce and around 1.2 million ticketed spectators expected to attend Games and supporting celebration. This will add to the regular motorway commuter traffic.
In anticipation of this, and to ensure public safety, speed limits have been reduced on the motorway.
If you have deliveries booked or planned for this period, please call 1800 467 637 to discuss any concerns you have about your delivery timing.
