Tips For Dressing Comfortably And Appropriately For Moving House
First of all, no matter where you live, it goes without saying the weather will be against you on moving day. If everyone in your family prepares to move house in shorts, sandals and T-Shirts and packs away all other clothing, a brisk wind from the north will surely whip up and keep you shivering all day long. For this reason, it pays to be prepared. Don’t pack everything away out of reach. Keep a box of extra garments handy in case of inclement weather, spills and other emergencies.
Moving house is hard work, and you are bound to work up a sweat. For this reason, you should wear comfortable, absorbent clothing made of natural materials, such as cotton. Additionally, you should dress in layers so that you can take off or put on clothes as you need throughout the day and evening.
Be sure to wear proper undergarments. If you can wear a something presentable under you clothing, it’s a good idea. This may seem like strange instruction; however, you never know when you might rip your shirt or pants on something during the day. If you don’t want the moving men to see your birthday suit or your frilly undies, you should wear close fitting sports wear or some other sort of presentable, close fitting garment under your clothes. Women should also keep this in mind because when you are bending over and reaching to help move things, you may present quite a view down the front of your shirt! Be sure you are properly covered to avoid embarrassment!
Safety is another very important consideration. If you wear clothes that are too loose or have dangling ties, you may be endangering yourself. You don’t want your clothing to get caught in hydraulic lifts or other equipment that might be used, so be sure to wear properly fitting, sturdy clothes. Jeans are perfect. You should also protect your feet and toes. Wear closed toed, leather shoes. Steel toed work boots are even better.
Moving day is challenging enough without having to fight your clothing all day long. Follow the tips presented here to be comfortable, presentable and safe on moving day.
