Red Frogs Australia faced that challenge for UQ O-Week 2017, and PODS were there to help!
Orientation Week, aka O-Week, at the University of Queensland (UQ), is well and vitally supported by Red Frogs Australia, and has been for many years. O-Week is a program of social and academic activities designed to introduce new students to life and study at UQ. This year, Red Frogs provided direct relief and support with hydration stations, pancake cookups, fairy bread, icy poles and red frogs to thousands of students embarking on their new studies.
Through ongoing support and education, Red Frogs is committed to ‘safeguarding a generation’. With their university program, Red Frogs supports every major university across Australia. That is an enormous effort. PODS is proud to provide support in a small way by donating storage containers for this event.
By utilising a PODS storage container, we were able to provide logistical support by way of consolidating resources onsite at the university. This eliminated the need to traffic items back and forth between the UQ campus at St Lucia and Red Frogs head office in Carindale. It also enabled immediate and ongoing access for Red Frogs crew to supplies as and when needed for events throughout the O-Week period.
This support made for incredibly smooth operations throughout the week, and, in the words of Bek Dukes, Red Frogs Australia Communications & Marketing Manager “we would not have been able to do what we did so easily without it!”

Red Frogs Chaplaincy Network began in Australia at Schoolies Week in 1997. It has since moved to university culture in 2002. Red Frogs has made it their mission to provide a positive peer presence in alcohol-fuelled environments. This is achieved after recognizing that the culture of young people is dominated by alcohol; and that excessive consumption of alcohol and other substances can lead to dangerous and life altering behaviours. They do this where young people gather through engaging education and promoting and providing non-alcoholic and/or diversionary activities.
